A perfect bio acts as a steroid that helps creator convert their profile visitors to loyal fans.
And ultimately…
Paying clients!
Right?
Bio optimization is 100% real and required.
No matter where you start, Instagram’s bio optimization comes first if you are serious about taking it to a long run.
And if you have optimized your profile, either by yourself or by hiring some professional, the number one issue that turns up in optimizing the bio part is the limit of characters that Instagram has put.
150 characters.
And???
That is it!
Not even a single more.
Although for some people 150 characters is fair enough for the bio part, few users (like me) often greed for just a few more that they wish they could add.
And as I always say, if you got it (the problem), Instagram has it (the solution).
Just two days back, Instagram rolled out a feature that now let users add pronoun to their Instagram profiles.
Hence…
More space, more characters, more happiness.
Also, if you are one of those artistic ones who like to use tons of emojis in your bio, it’s a piece of good news for you.
Now you can add a few more to satisfy your hunger of emojis in the bio part.
Post rollout, Instagram users will have the ability to add up to four pronouns in the faded text next to their profile name in the bio section of their Instagram.
And also, for those who aren’t interested at all, Instagram has kept it completely optional for you all as well, so you can opt to never use this feature if you don’t want to.
It’s all your choice.
Moreover, you would be able to edit, remove or change the data anytime you want.
So you see…
It’s a completely optional, transparent, and handy feature the usability of which Instagram has put in your hand.
That being said, the feature seems to have been rolled out mainly for gender diverse users, their allies, and also for those who are exploring their gender entity.
Here’s is what a spokesperson from Facebook clarified to Mashable regarding this recent update-
“We are giving people more tools to express themselves on Instagram. Sharing pronouns has been widely adopted by our community, and with this feature, we hope to normalize the adoption further.”
That said…
Using this feature is super easy, and here’s is what you need to do-
1- Go to your profile section, and click on the ‘Edit Profile’ option from the menu.
2- You will then see a newly added option, where you can input the pronouns that you want to add.
3- Just start by typing anything you want, and Instagram will give you the related options which you can select and add.
Unfortunately, you can only add from the surfaced option that Instagram provides.
And this is for the reason that some of the people might put something offensive that go against the platform’s policy.
Fair enough, right?
According to Mashable, there are 41 options on Instagram’s pronoun list as of now; however, the company would surely think of adding a few more in the near future.
The pronouns and neopronouns have been added to the list after a clear discussion with the LGBTQ organizations such as PFLAG, GLAAD, The Trevor Project.
Furthermore, Instagram also rolled out an option that lets users request pronouns that aren’t available in the current list.

According to a report by The Verge, the pronouns will be displayed publicly by default for Instagram users who are under the age of 18.
Nonetheless, these users will still have the option to limit the visibility of pronouns to their followers.
The feature is currently rolled out in English-speaking countries although pretty soon Instagram is thinking of rolling it out globally.
The recent efforts have indeed showed how hard Instagram’s trying to make its platform a safer place for all.
And this feature is surely one of them.
Hence…
Claps for the platform!
