Just a few days ago, YOU learned about how to use Reels on Instagram.
In case you missed it, use the above link to read that FIRST and COME BACK here later.
Although I tried my best explaining you everything with regards to using it on the platform, there are certain doubts that still hit many users’ minds.
And thus…
I bring to YOU today all the frequently asked queries about Instagram Reels that many users search for every single day.
Here we begin-
Question 1- Why can’t I use Reels on Instagram?
Instagram Reels, for now, is ONLY available in India, Brazil, France, and Germany so if you belong to any country other than these four, you won’t be able to use this feature.
Question 2- When will Reels be available to other countries?
Instagram is currently planning to roll out Reel in the United States after an announcement from the federal government that imposed a ban on TikTok within the country. Just a few hours ago, President Trump confirmed via an official announcement that TikTok would face a countrywide ban pretty soon.
It is for this reason Instagram cashed in and decided to roll out Reels in the United States in early August.
The company said- “We’re excited to bring Reels to more countries, including the US, in early August. The community in our test countries has shown so much creativity in short-form video, and we’ve heard from creators and people around the world that they’re eager to get started as well.”
There also came news thereafter that Instagram Reels would roll out in 50+ other countries including Mexico, UK, Hong Kong, etc.
Question 3- I found a Reel offensive that shouldn’t be on the platform. How do I report such Reels?
So…
If you found an offensive Reel via any creator that you believe has a hateful speech or anything that shouldn’t be on the platform, you can report it to Instagram to get it removed from the platform.
Just go to the Reel that YOU want to report, and click on three dots on the right top corner of that Reel.
From the surfaced option, click on Report.
And then follow the on-screen instructions to report the Reel in a category that you want i.e. ‘Hateful’, ‘Bullying’, etc.
Instagram would go through your report in the next 24-36 hours and remove it from the platform if it violated community guidelines.
Question 4- I cannot tag and mention a particular account in Reels?
The settings for tagging and mention also applies to Instagram Reels. In case YOU are not able to mention, or tag someone in Instagram Reels, it means that they have set their mention and tag settings to ‘No one’, or even ‘People they follow’ (and they might not be following you).
That said, you can control this too.
Just go to your Instagram Settings, and click on ‘Privacy’.
You would spot two options as ‘Tags’ and ‘Mention’.
Click on them, and select ‘No one’ so no other user can tag or mention in their Instagram Reels.
P.S.- If you have put the settings to ‘No one’, users would not able to tag or mention in other places as well, not just on Instagram Reels.
Question 5- How do some Reels say ‘Featured’?
So…
If you notice a label saying ‘Featured’ in someone’s Instagram Reel, it means that the particular Reel was chosen by Instagram just for the fact it received tons of engagement and likes from people who saw it.
Additionally, Instagram shows ‘Featured’ in the Reels that are posted via its selected range of creators to popularize the feature.
Question 6- I have a private account. Can my Reels get ‘Featured’ by Instagram?
Unfortunately…
No!
Instagram only features a Reel if it’s from a public account. Provided your Instagram Reel is posted on a private account, it would never hit the ‘Featured’ label.
Question 7- What is the difference between sharing Reel on ‘Feed and Explore’, and sharing Reels on ‘Stories and Direct’?
A Reel if shared on ‘Feed and Explore’ would remain live on your Instagram account unless it is manually deleted by you, or taken down by Instagram.
On the flip side, if a Reel is shared on ‘Stories and Direct’, it would vanish from the platform after 24 hours.
Question 8- Who can see my Instagram Reels? Who can share it?
If your account is public, anyone on the platform can see and view your Instagram Reels. Other Instagram users can find your Reels in their Explore section as well as other places like hashtags, filter effects, and audio pages.
Furthermore, any Instagrammer can use your audio in their Instagram Reel if your account is set to public.
On the other hand, if you have set your account to private, the only user YOU follow can see and share your Reels.
Additionally, if a user shares your Instagram Reels, the user who follows you would be able to see that shared Reel.
Moreover, no one can use your Reels audio in their Instagram Reels.
Question 9- Can I use my own audio in my Instagram Reel?
Of course, YOU can!
Although Instagram has provided its users with a wide range of music collections that they can use, one can use their own audio as well.
That said, if you use your own audio, Instagram would display your username in your Reel audio.
Question 10- How do I delete Instagram Reel?
Deleting Instagram Reel is no different than deleting an Instagram post.
Just go to the Reel that you want to delete.
And click on the three-dot on the top right corner.
After this, click on ‘Delete’ from the surfaced options.
And…
That it!!!
Pretty easy, right?
