Clap-clap for the platform and their entire team!
It’s finally rolled out!!!
Now you can post Instagram pictures and videos right from your desktop.
No more going to third-party applications.
No more extra expenditure on unnecessary services.
No more extensions.
No more changing of user-agents via the developer section of the browser.
No more going back and forth to Creators Studio, or Facebook Business Suite when you have to post Instagram pictures and videos right from your desktop.
Nothing!
Because it’s there man!
And I couldn’t be happier:)
By the way…
I am sure the same would with YOU because we did it.
I still remember just a few days ago (maybe 10), I wrote an article about the test that Instagram was carrying out.
Link Here- Instagram Testing to Post from Desktop!
And in the article, I clearly mentioned the uncertainty because not many users were backing up this issue.
They wanted the feature, but nobody ever raised it to an extent so it could be noticed by the platform.
And it is for this reason, I asked YOU all to comment, email on support as much as you can so we could amplify our voices and it rolls out soon.
And finally…
Yesterday, Instagram blessed us with this long-awaited feature.
Although there isn’t any exact info of when Instagram rolled it out, I guess it’s somewhere in yesterday’s evening when this feature hit the web version of the site.
I spotted it on one of my testing accounts while doing some research (if you have read my previous articles, you know why I use testing accounts).
So while I was going through a few popular extensions that eased the task on Instagram’s web version, I bumped into this new ‘+’ icon on the top right corner of the screen.
It took me not even 0.2 seconds to gauge what it was, but I knocked this icon to get that awesome feeling that almost every Instagram user was waiting for (maybe I was the first few to test it).
And it worked like a charm!
Posting from…. (you know the line)
It…is…there.
By the way, just for your convenience, here is how it all works, and how you can too post directly from your desktop-
1- Click on the newly added ‘+’ icon on the top right corner of the screen.
2- Then click on ‘Select from Computer’.
3- Now select any picture or video that you want to post on Instagram.
4- Choose size from the surfaced options, and then click ‘Next’. (Although Instagram here give you the option to publish posts in 1:1 scale or 4:5, it is recommended you design your posts in these ratios beforehand so Instagram doesn’t crop any important part of your picture just to fit the platform’s scale.)
5- Users can also use the filters as in the app. Additionally, adjusting brightness, contrast, saturation, and temperature, etc., could be done from the edit option.
6- When you are done editing, click on the ‘Next’ option to proceed further.
7- Click on the picture or video to tag people in your post, and add your caption, hashtags, and location if you want.
8- After you are done customizing, click on the ‘Share’ button to publish your post.
And?
Ta-da!!!
Your post is now live on Instagram.
You just made your first post on Instagram right from your computer!
Well…maybe virtually now, but I am sure you would do it right after reading this article:)
Won’t you?
By the way, make sure you leave a ‘Thank You’ on Instagram’s posts to appreciate them for their concern because I still remember I was the one who asked you to continuously hit their support via emails with this request so we could have this feature soon.
And just 10 days guys…
Just 10!
It’s now a global thing:)
Cheers!
Now I know you can’t wait to test this feature out, so…
That’s it for today!
See you next time:)
But please, please, please share this article if you found it helpful.
Bye-bye.
P.S.- Subscribe to our newsletter so you never miss any updates!
thanks, very interesting 🙂
Thank you so much!
Glad you liked it:)
I’ve seen a couple articles talking about this new feature but, unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to exist yet. At least not on any of the three browsers I have installed. No + anywhere to be seen.
Hey Will,
I am sorry hear that!
It’s rolled out in phases for now. The feature indeed exists in many of my test accounts.
You can use Creators Studio till then.
It’s safe and also, it’s free!
Let me know if you face any issues.
Regards,
Shivam
