Instagram Rolls Out its New ‘Challenge’ Sticker!!!

Have you seen people challenging on Instagram???

Of course, you must have!

Unless you are one of those who don’t follow even a single celebrity or influencer on the platform, you would have noticed such challenges popping up now and then.

Be it the #mdvfitnesschallenge

The #bottlecapchallenge

Or the current popular #standupchallenge!

Everyone on Instagram is following the lead and continuing this cycle.

That being said, there has been an exponential increase in the number of people taking up these challenges especially following the recent outbreak of COVID-19 which confined people within four walls of their room.

As a result, people are looking for new approaches to do things they used to do earlier in normal life.

Ultimately…

Giving birth to such new challenges.

Instagram is a mastermind.  It fathoms what its users want according to a particular situation or pattern.

It is for this reason it executes its efforts in the directions that bring more engagement on their platform.

That said…

Not so surprisingly, Instagram rolled out a NEW sticker named “CHALLENGE” in their story section that is particularly meant for challenging people on Instagram.

However…

There are certain limitations as of now i.e. YOU won’t be able to create your challenges.

In case if a user tries creating his/her challenge using this sticker, Instagram shows a notification saying “Creating new challenges isn’t available yet”.

Although there are higher chances that this functionality of creating own challenges would soon add up to this newly rolled out sticker.

However…

There are not any official announcements regarding this, so you never know!

To use the sticker, just type any of the alphabets from your mobile keyboard (after selecting the sticker) and Instagram would present you with the available challenges on its board.

The current tray of options has 10 different challenges that users can use in their stories such as ‘#DRAWINGCHALLENGE’, ‘#YOGACHALLENGE’, ’10YEARCHALLENGE’, ‘DANCECHALLENGE’, ‘ARTCHALLENGE’ etc.

Instagram users can even search for other challenges too (example- #pushupchallenge) by typing in the keyword, and Instagram would surface it if it is available for use.

After you are presented with the available options, just click on any of those and tag the number of users who you want to challenge.

The limitation for nomination is currently 10 at the moment which means you won’t be able to tag (or challenge) more than 10 people at once.

Additionally, users can customize the color of challenge labels by clicking on a circle on top which would enable you to change the color of challenge label.

Once your story goes live, your followers would be able to view your challenge including those who you tagged and nominated.

In case if anyone clicks on the challenge label, Instagram presents them with two different options-

1- Try this Challenge

2- Give feedback on this hashtag

Provided a user clicks on ‘Try this Challenge’, they would be led to their story section where they could record, post, and nominate others too.

Moreover, if you click on ‘Give feedback in this hashtag’, you will be presented with a number of options that you can select accordingly.

Excited?

So am I.

To that end, in case if you are yet not seeing this sticker in your stories section, chances are you are using an older version of the app.

So just go update your app, and you will find it then.

By the way, which challenges are you excited to try?
